One of the first celebrity babies of 2017 is here!
Janet Jackson has given birth to a healthy baby boy at the age of 50 and her rep shared the name of the new bundle of joy in a statement to <a href="http://people.com/babies/janet-jackson-welcomes-son-eissa/">People magazine</a>.

“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” the statement read. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
This is great news for fans who have been waiting for updates on Janet's pregnancy since she went public with her plans to have a baby this Spring. In April she posted a video on Twitter explaining she was cutting her tour short due to family planning.
<blockquote>“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change,” she said in the <a href="http://madamenoire.com/695696/janet-jackson-is-pregnant/">April 6 announcement</a>. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”</blockquote>
It wasn't until October, however, that the singer put out an official, albeit brief, <a href="http://madamenoire.com/721475/janet-jackson-pregnancy/">statement on her pregnancy</a>, saying: “We thank God for our blessing."

Janet and Wissam, who just turned 42 on January 1, have been married since 2012; this is their first child together. Congrats to the new parents!
