Desperately in need of a vacation, but don't think you can afford it? The U.S. Virgin Islands is willing to meet you halfway. In celebration of its centennial next year, the island is giving visitors $300 in tourism cash for spending money.

According to <a href="http://www.visitusvi.com/package_and_promotions">visitusvi.com</a>, the $300 worth of spending credits can be used for historical/cultural tours and activities, and is eligible to all travelers visiting the islands between January 2-December 31, 2017, so long as reservations are made at participating hotels in St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas by October 1, 2017.
