Gospel singer Kim Burrell has found herself in hot, hot heat after a portion of her sermon where she speaks out against homosexuality hit the internet.
In the now-viral video that surfaced Friday (Dec. 30), Burrell refers to homosexuality as a sin, calling gay people "perverted," too.
“The perverted and homosexual spirit is a spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women.” Burrell says in the video. “If you as a man will open your mouth take a man’s penis in your face, you are perverted!… If you are a woman and will shake your face in another woman’s face, you are perverted!”

And of course, after her comments, social media had something to say.
Activist DeRay Mckesson took to Twitter, explaining, "I watched your 'sermon' last night & took the time to watch the "apology" video this morning. I don't know your God." "To all of the gay people who listened to Kim Burrell's sermon, remember that you are whole and that she does not represent love in any form," he continued.

After social media side eyes were thrown, Burrell went back and clarified her comments on Facebook Live, saying that she loves anyone with a “homosexual spirit” because “God loves you." However, she added, “God hates the sin.”
“We’re not against flesh and blood, I came on because I care about God’s creation, and every person from the LGBT [community] and anything else that’s supporting gay, I never said LGBT last night,” she notes. “I said S-I-N, and whatever falls under sin.”

Interestingly enough, the gospel star is scheduled to discuss her outstanding feature <em>Hidden Figures</em> soundtrack on <em>The Ellen DeGeneres Show </em>next Thursday(Jan. 5). Degeneres is openly gay so this conversation could go south quickly.
